Who are we?
Incorporated in 1977, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island is a private, nonsectarian, not-for-profit, 501c3 tax exempt organization. We assist children who are at-risk because of family or personal situations. There are no fees for the families or volunteers participating in our program.
Our Mission
To promote positive growth and development of Long Island’s children by providing families with quality mentoring, education and support services. We envision a time when all children on Long Island find themselves in a loving, nurturing environment. This environment will include parents and a caring community providing guidance and support to enable our children to grow into happy, healthy and productive adults.

- 52% less likely to skip school
- More content about school work
- Have better relationships with their parents and peers
